The Creed

That day whereupon Salvation is in adhering to the creed.

We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might. (Qur’an57:25 Al-Hadid, The Iron)

Al-Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad pbuh:

... a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion (2:185),

verses recited as clear evidences (10:15),

a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture (10:37),

in Arabic that [one] might understand (12:2, 43:3)

and without any deviance for becoming righteous (39:28)

with detailed verses for the knowledgeable (41:3),

by which the mountains [humbled and come apart from fear of Allah by the thoughtful] (59:21)

and would be removed or the earth would be broken apart or the dead would be made to speak (13:31),

verses of [a clear] Book (15:1)

not knowledge of poetry but a message clear (36:69),

seven of the often repeated [verses] and great Qur'an (15:87),

made into portions (15:91),

guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward (17:9),

[the contents] diversified so that mankind may be reminded, but does not increase disbelievers except in aversion (17:41),

when recited it's put between one and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition (17:45),

in which the accursed tree [mentioned] (17:60),

whose recitation at dawn is ever witnessed (17:78),

healing and mercy for the believers, but does not increase wrongdoers except in loss (17:82), which mankind and jinn gathered could not produce the like of (17:88),

diversified for people from every [kind] of example for easy remembrance (39:27, 54:17, 22, 32, 40),

but most refused [anything] except disbelief (17:89)

and [prone to] dispute(18:54)

and the disbelievers falsify the sign of [Prophet Muhammad pbuh] (30:58),

separated [by intervals - sent down progressively to Prophet Muhammad pbuh] (76:23)

to be recited to people over prolonged period (17:106),

not sent down to cause distress (20:2),

in Arabic diversified warnings for avoidance [of sin] or remembrance (20:113)

and containing reminder (38:1)

and warning for the Mother of Cities [Makkah and surrounds] of the undoubtable Day of Assembly [parties in Paradise or Blaze] (42:7),

whose [recitation] is measured (73:4)

nor hastened before its complete revelation (20:114),

which people have abandoned (25:30),

spaced distinctly to strengthen [Messenger's] heart (25:32),

a clear Book (27:1),

the wise Qur'an (36:2)

revealed by the one Wise and Knowing (27:6),

relates to Children of Israel most of which they disagree over (27:76),

where the guided benefits himself and the astray warned (27:92),

the author to whom one returns (28:85),

that disbelievers will never believe in [nor in past revelation] (34:31)

and they prevent [others] from listening to [while being overcome by noisy speech] (41:26),

a guidance and cure for believers and deafness and blindness for disbelievers (41:44),

not [meant to be] sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities [as judge by the disbelievers] (43:31),

an amazing revelation quietly listened to by the jinn (72:1)

who returned to warn their own (46:29),

an honored Qur'an (50:1, 85:21),

noble (56:77),

to be recited [in prayer during] almost two thirds [or half or a third] of the night or [what of] is easy [in illness, travel, in Allah's cause] (73:20),

deserving of prostration [to Allah when recited to) (84:21)

Tawrat-Torah to Prophet Musa-Moses (pbuh):

Tafsir Maududi (Indian Sunni Muslim) states that Torah which the Quran confirms is not the Pentateuch (first five books of the Old Testament) but is contained in it.

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers."

(Qur'an28:48 Al-Qasas, The Stories)

But how is it that they come to you for judgement while they have the Torah, in which is the judgement of Allah? Then they turn away, [even] after that; but those are not [in fact] believers. Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the disbelievers. And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust].

(Qur’an5:43-45 Al-Maidah, The Table Spread)

The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books] Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

(Qur’an 62:5 Al-Jumu'ah, The Congregation, Friday)

Zabur-Psalms to Prophet Daud-David (pbuh):

Ibn Al Kathir quotes Mujahid, "The Sabians are between the Majus, the Jews and the Christians." They do not have a specific religion, remained living according to their Fitrah (instinctual nature) and may have been used to read the Zabur (Psalms).

Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].

(Qur’an4:163 An-Nisa, The Women)

And your Lord is most knowing of whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And We have made some of the prophets exceed others [in various ways], and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].

(Qur’an17:55 Al-Isra, The Night Journey)

And We have already written in the book [of Psalms]1 after the [previous] mention2 that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.

(Qur’an21:105 Al-Anbya, The Prophets)

Injeel-Gospel to Prophet Isa-Jesus (pbuh):

Tafsir Maududi states that the Qur'anic Injil is not "the four Gospels" (New Testament) but is wider than these books. Muhammad Asad (an Austrian-Pakistani Jew born in Hungary turned Sunni Muslim) clarified that the Qur'anic Injil refers to a lost original revealed to Prophet Jesus pbuh (known to his contemporaries as Evangelion or "Good Tiding" in Greek and upon which Synoptic Gospels are based).

He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

(Qur’an3:3 Al-Imran, Family of Imran)

And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous. And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient.

(Qur’an5:46-47 Al-Maidah, The Table Spread)

[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."

(Qur’an5:110 Al-Maidah, The Table Spread)

Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

(Qur’an57:27 Al-Hadid, The Iron)
